Den 15 november offentliggjorde Esri och Autodesk starten på ett nytt partnerskap för att bygga broar mellan GIS och BIM. Världens största leverantörer inom respektive område samarbetar nu med ambitionen att nyttja kombinationen av GIS och BIM för ett smartare och mer hållbart byggande.

Målet med detta partnerskap är mer integrerade arbetsflöden i BIM and GIS. De vill utveckla ett sömlöst utbyte av geodata, som finns i Esris GIS, och BIM-information från Autodesks mjukvara.

The benefits of partnering with Autodesk will include securing sustainable resources for the growing population, a responsible human footprint on our natural environment, better use of our planet’s resources and more resilient cities, säger Jack Dangermond, President Esri, i ett pressmeddelande.

– Partnering with Esri is intended to combine the power of BIM and GIS mapping which will enable our shared customers to build anything, anywhere. Our goals are to provide industry and city planners the ability to design in the context of the real world. This will allow communities to build more connected, resilient cities, and infrastructure with a focused eye on sustainability, säger Andrew Anagnost, CEO, Autodesk.
